As a friends group we fully support Birmingham City Council's no BBQ policy. This policy limits BBQs to approved, organised events where the food is cooked by a professional company.
Single use BBQs used on the grass are a fire risk. This risk is increased if the BBQ is put in a bin after use, even if it appears to have gone out.
Larger BBQs are also a fire risk if they are placed under trees or left unattended.
BBQs also create additional litter which has to be collected by volunteers.
